Brake System

The braking system is upgraded for the E46 to match the vehicle\'s size and braking requirements. The dual circuit (black/white) distribution system continues to be used for optimized braking response and performance. Refinements to the brake pedal linkage increase the brake response time to improve braking performance.

Single piston floating calipers with vented rotors are used on the front and rear brakes.

The E46 uses a 10\" vacuum booster; vented in the engine compartment to reduce noise in the passenger compartment.
