Where Do I Start

On this site you can read all about repairing your brakes, installing fuel filters, troubleshooting your automatic transmission, but some people are intimidated by even the simplest of auto repair tasks. There's nothing wrong with this. Take the simple task of changing a flat tire. It's a simple job for a guy like me, but a scary prospect for others. I'm sure it's technically not that difficult to properly roast a duck, but stick a guy like me in the kitchen and you'll see a deer in headlights. My visions of accidentally burning the kitchen to ashes probably compare to visions of your shiny new car rolling down a hill into a river after you tried to change your own tire.

Fear not. Changing your own tire is a great first lesson in working on your car. Even if you have no desire to perform your own auto repairs and maintenance, everybody should know how to change a tire. You never know when you might be in an area with no cell phone service.
